Chun-Li Fortnite Skin: 57 Shop Days Since 2021, Last Seen 26 August 2026
Chun-Li arrived on 21 February 2021 as a Gaming Legends outfit at 1,600 V-Bucks, went quiet for nearly three years, and returned in 2025. With 57 shop days and a listing as recent as 26 August 2026, she is the archive's standing example of a searched-for outfit that is not rare.

The Chun-Li Fortnite skin is a Gaming Legends Series outfit released on 21 February 2021 at 1,600 V-Bucks, or 2,200 in the Ryu & Chun-Li bundle, with 57 shop days recorded by fnbr.co and a most recent listing of 23 to 26 August 2026. She is in the archive for the opposite reason to most entries: people search for her as a rare skin, and the record shows an outfit that has appeared in the shop three times in the four months before verification. The dossier exists to put the dates where the adjective usually goes.
What the Chun-Li outfit is
Chun-Li (catalogue id CID_A_024_Athena_Commando_F_Skirmish_QW2BQ, description "Interpol officer with a strong sense of justice and even stronger roundhouse kick.") was added to the fortnite-api.com catalogue on 21 February 2021, introduced in Chapter 2 Season 5, Gaming Legends Series rarity, part of the Street Fighter set that now holds 26 items. Ryu (CID_A_023_Athena_Commando_M_Skirmish_W1N7H) arrived the same day. Both were the first Capcom characters in the game and among the earliest Gaming Legends outfits; the catalogue counts 79 outfits with that rarity as of 9 September 2026.

Release date, prices and the bundle
The outfits reached the Item Shop on 21 February 2021 (fnbr.co release date), late in Chapter 2 Season 5. Chun-Li cost 1,600 V-Bucks alone; the Ryu & Chun-Li bundle cost 2,200 V-Bucks and included both outfits with their alternate styles. Later Street Fighter additions — Cammy and Guile on 4 August 2021, Sakura on 26 April 2022 — followed the same pattern.
At US V-Bucks pack prices since 19 March 2026, 1,600 V-Bucks is exactly two 800-V-Buck packs at $8.99 each, or part of the $22.99 pack of 2,400. V-Bucks cards from Eneba, CDKeys or Kinguin (affiliate links; the archive may earn a commission) are the only third-party route this site links.
The shop record: 57 days, one long gap
fnbr.co lists 57 occurrences for Chun-Li between 21 February 2021 and 26 August 2026. The pattern has three parts. From release through 2022 the outfit rotated normally. Then it went quiet for nearly three years — long enough that by 2024 it appeared on "rarest skins" lists, which is where the reputation comes from. In 2025 it returned, and the 2026 record is busy: 4 May, 28 to 30 June, and 23 to 26 August.
That third part is why the rarest Fortnite skins ranking lists Chun-Li under "Recently returned (off the list)", alongside Skull Trooper and Recon Expert. An outfit last sold on 26 August 2026 cannot rank above outfits that have been un-obtainable for six years, whatever its reputation.
Why the long gap matters for other outfits
The Chun-Li gap is the archive's most-cited precedent, because it answers the question every vaulted-outfit dossier asks. A licensed outfit can be absent for years — long enough to be declared gone by every list — and then return without announcement, at the original price, with nothing changed. That is the exact scenario the archive holds open for Travis Scott and Chromatica Armor Gaga, the one Playboi Carti already played out in July 2026 after four months away; Chun-Li is the reason it refuses to write "gone" about any Item Shop outfit.
The reverse lesson holds too. Absence is not evidence of a rule. The only outfits the archive calls permanently exclusive are those a published rule covers — Battle Pass rewards from before Chapter 5 Season 4 — and Chun-Li, a shop outfit, was never one of them, however long she was missing.
Can the Chun-Li skin come back?
She is back; the question is when the next window opens. Chun-Li is an Item Shop outfit outside Epic's Battle Pass exclusivity rule, and the 2026 record shows a return roughly every two months. Epic publishes no schedule, and the archive gives no date — but on this record, waiting is a reasonable plan and paying a premium anywhere is not.
Styles and what owners hold
Chun-Li shipped with her classic style and a Nostalgia alternate; both were included with the outfit at every listing, and no owner-only variant exists as of 9 September 2026. Ryu is a separate outfit. There is no Icon Cup or quest route; the shop is the only way.
The Street Fighter set on the record
The set Chun-Li belongs to has grown to 26 items in the fortnite-api.com catalogue, and its release order is a useful control group. Ryu arrived with her on 21 February 2021; Cammy and Guile were added on 4 August 2021; Sakura followed on 26 April 2022. All are Gaming Legends outfits sold in the shop, none is protected by a rule, and each has its own rotation record on fnbr.co. When a list calls one of them rare, the check is the same as for Chun-Li: open the tracker, read the last-seen line, and compare it with the date on the list.
How to verify this record yourself
fnbr.co counts shop occurrences, which can exceed calendar days when an outfit appears in more than one shop section on the same day; a third-party tracker reported 56 appearances across 53 days for Chun-Li in 2025, and fnbr.co showed 57 occurrences on 9 September 2026. The small gap between those figures is the reason the archive quotes one source, names it, and dates the reading. A number without its source and date is a number that cannot be checked, and an archive of un-checkable numbers is a rumour with a table.
In the archive
Chun-Li is entry No. 006 on the ledger, filed as "in rotation", and is placed on the home ledger deliberately so that the contrast with the exclusives above her is visible at a glance. The outfit from the same season with the opposite status is in the Predator dossier — a Chapter 2 Season 5 pass reward sealed by rule — and the outfit whose absence her precedent bears on most is in the Travis Scott dossier.
Inquiries
When was the Chun-Li skin last in the Fortnite shop?
26 August 2026, at the end of a window that opened on 23 August, per fnbr.co. Earlier 2026 windows were 4 May and 28–30 June.
How much is the Chun-Li skin?
1,600 V-Bucks alone, or 2,200 V-Bucks in the Ryu & Chun-Li bundle. At US pack prices since 19 March 2026 that is two 800-V-Buck packs at $8.99 each.
Is the Chun-Li skin rare?
No. She has 57 shop days since 21 February 2021 and was listed three times between May and August 2026. The reputation dates from a gap of nearly three years that ended in 2025.
When did Chun-Li come out in Fortnite?
21 February 2021, in Chapter 2 Season 5, alongside Ryu, as the first Street Fighter outfits in the Gaming Legends Series.
Will Chun-Li return to the shop again?
There is no exclusivity rule attached and the 2026 record shows a return roughly every two months, so a further window is expected; Epic publishes no schedule and the archive gives no date.

Can Rare Fortnite Skins Come Back? Epic's Rules, the OG Shop and the Account Question
Three different rules decide whether a rare outfit can return — one for Battle Pass rewards since 7 August 2024, one for everything in the Item Shop, none at all for promotional exclusives — plus the OG Season Shop precedent and Epic's terms on account sales.
