Independent archive

Privacy

The archive collects as little as a static site can. This page says exactly what that is.

What is collected

Lockerkeep is a static website. It runs no advertising trackers and has no user accounts, and the only cookies it sets belong to Google Analytics 4, described in the next section. The hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, requested page, browser type, timestamp — for security and error diagnosis, retained for a limited period and not used to profile anyone.

Analytics

The archive uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd., to learn which entries are read. It records pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location at city or country level, device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off; the data serves no advertising purpose and is not sold.

When analytics is allowed, GA4 sets the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which persist for up to two years. Before that, they are not set.

Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked first through a banner, and nothing goes to Google unless Accept is clicked. Visitors elsewhere have analytics on by default and may switch it off at any time. A browser sending the Global Privacy Control signal is treated as opted out. The archive keeps your choice in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent, not in a cookie.

To change it, open Cookie settings and the banner returns. Google's own privacy policy applies to its processing, and Google's opt-out add-on is another way to switch Google Analytics off.

The email list

If you subscribe to accession notes, your email address is stored by the email service provider named at the point of signup and used only to send the notes you asked for. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes the address.

Links marked as affiliate links lead to third-party retailers who may set their own cookies under their own policies once you arrive. The archive receives no personal data from those retailers beyond aggregate commission reports. Links to Epic, fnbr.co and other sources are ordinary links.

Your rights

You can ask what the archive holds about you, ask for it to be deleted, or ask a question about this policy by writing to [email protected]. For a static site with no accounts, the honest answer is usually "an email address, if you subscribed" — plus the visit statistics described under Analytics, if you allowed them.

Changes

This policy is dated and updated whenever the archive's practices change. It was last updated on 9 October 2026.
